‘Blue Window’ is part of an exploration into alternative histories, the anatomy of the picture is an attempt to pull apart the hierarchies of art history and of personal history. The familiar tropes of modernism, and of European art are assembled alongside, and layered beneath indigenous histories; in an attempt to void the complexity of physical and spiritual identities. Language, gesture and memory coalesce to create a singular image of something more tactile.
